- To begin to grow; give off shoots or buds.
I put this little contraption on my Christmas list, along with a bag of seed. Well, Brian went overboard and got me three cups and 3 bags of seed too. Thank goodness, because we're totally hooked and 1 cp may not keep up with 6 of us.
It's unbelievably easy and tastes SO good.
I started with alfalfa. By day 2-3 we were eating out of the cup. Alfalfa seed hulls will drop or float. But really, they're soft enough that you don't even notice them and can eat them with the tiny sprouts.
On day 2, they taste like a fresh super sweet pea, straight out of the garden. yum.
On the side, it's building my growing confidence and i guess sprouts have mega enzymes or something. For the kids, I told them they could swap any veggie on their dinner plate for 2 pinches of sprouts. So far, in a weeks time, everyone is opting for sprouts.
I guess you can ultimately bag and refridge or freeze sprouts, but our cups are empty before we ever get that far.
For less than 20 bucks, you can have a garden on the counter too.
